The Mughal High Noon-ascent of Aurangzeb

This book tells you the very anitcipated story of how Aurangzeb, out of all the others became the ruler of hindustan after shah jahan was considered unfit.
This book will also tell you how much witty and cunning Aurangzeb whilst giving you a perfect mixture of hatred and love for Aurangzeb.
As idiotic as it may sound, Aurangzeb was pushed back by all the strongest rebel forces that being;

  1. Dara- through the imperial side
  2. Shah Shuja- through the eastern provinces of bengal
  3. Murad- from the western side of gujarat
and Emperor Shah Jahan himself.

But he managed to outwit all of them and also he became the successor instead of Dara Shikoh

I would rate the book as:

  • Reading experience: 7/10
  • Clarity of text: 6/10
  • Characteristic intelligence: 10/10 ( Aurangzeb it is, what do you expect?)
  • Worth the time and money ( after all time is money right?): 8/10
  • Overall:7/10
This book only lost its reviews because the text was not clear and i found multiple mistakes here and there.

But, this book is a must read and i would recommend it to all history lovers!
